    Hey you all,

I've been striving to figure out whether I belong to Deep Winter or Deep Summer, and sincerely, it's been pretty challenging. I have dark hair and a skin tone that's hard to pin down—my undertone is pretty unclear, so it's tough to tell which palette matches me best. Some of the Deep Winter colors like the rich navy blues and pure black really accentuate a sharpness in my face, but then I notice that some of the more muted, dusty plums and greys from Deep Summer also make me look even and less harsh.

The challenging thing is that both palettes have overlapping cool, deep tones, so it's hard to see the slight differences in how they interact with my skin. Sometimes, when I slip on clothes or scarves from each palette, the lighting changes everything—I can look vibrant one moment and dull the next.

I did find some visual comparison charts online that highlight the key differences between Deep Winter and Deep Summer, especially around undertones and contrast levels, which helped a bit what color looks best on me . But even with those, it's still a battle because my skin doesn't lean clearly cool or warm, and my dark hair and eyes don't really decide it either.

Has anyone else faced this back-and-forth with these deep, cool seasons? How did you end up deciding which palette fits you better? Are there specific subtle clues or tests that helped you figure it out without going for a full professional analysis? I'd greatly appreciate any tips or personal stories so I can stop feeling stuck between these two palettes. Thanks so much!

I have been trying virtual hair colour tools because I want a careful change before my salon visit, not a extreme reinvention. My untreated brown hair can look orange outside, although it seems fine in the mirror. The calmer examples make my skin look better, but I know a filter is not a promise. I took photographs in daylight and kept only modest ideas. For comparison, I used this shade reference and wrote down shades that seemed possible without bleach. I would prefer a soft gloss or a tonal adjustment. I need clear language for my stylist, rather than a promise based on one edited photograph. Would you call this cool brown, soft ash, or simply less warmth? I would genuinely value advice from anyone who has carefully made one modest change and then lived with it in daily daylight for many weeks. Which warning sign matters most: a reference that needs lightening, a result that only works under one lamp, or a shade that will quickly turn warm again? I would rather bring two sensible options than demand one exact result.

Hey everyone, I'm both scared and excited because I'm thinking of dyeing my hair for the first time. I've always been a natural blonde with light skin, and I've stayed with simple looks so far. But now that summer's coming, I want a gentle cool hue that feels like a noticeable change without being too bold or clashing with my complexion. I've gone through a curated gallery of cool summer hair colors on a beauty site and saved a few ideas virtual hair color try on free , but I'm not sure how to choose the best shade that would work with my natural coloring. Since I've never done anything other than my natural color, I'm anxious about ending up with something too dark or harsh, especially because I'm pale and have blue eyes. I want to keep it light and flattering but still fresh. Have any of you with a similar skin tone tried soft cool tones like ash blonde or light silver tints? Did it feel like a major transformation or just a gentle update? Also, any advice on what to avoid or how to prepare for the dye process would help a lot. Thanks in advance for any recommendations or thoughts—you all make this far less daunting!

    Hey friends,

I've been attempting to figure out whether I fit Deep Winter or Deep Summer, and frankly, it's been pretty overwhelming. I have dark hair and a skin tone that's hard to determine—my undertone is pretty ambiguous, so it's tough to tell which palette matches me best. Some of the Deep Winter colors like the rich navy blues and pure black really enhance a sharpness in my face, but then I notice that some of the more muted, dusty plums and greys from Deep Summer also make me look balanced and less harsh.

The hard thing is that both palettes have overlapping cool, deep tones, so it's hard to see the subtle differences in how they interact with my skin. Sometimes, when I wear clothes or scarves from each palette, the lighting changes everything—I can look vibrant one moment and washed out the next.

I did find some informative comparison charts online that highlight the key differences between Deep Winter and Deep Summer, especially around undertones and contrast levels, which helped a bit skin tone test camera . But even with those, it's still a battle because my skin doesn't lean clearly cool or warm, and my dark hair and eyes don't really give it away either.

Hey friends, I not long ago took a 16 season color analysis evaluation online because I was keen about diving deeper than the common four seasons most people talk about. My initial fast test (the classic spring/summer/autumn/winter) gave me a pretty easy result—Soft Summer—but this new 16 season result seems a bit more complicated. It suggested I'm something like a Soft Summer leaning toward Light Summer or maybe even a Cool Summer subtype, and there are all these notes about contrast levels, temperature nuances, and fine brightness differences. Honestly, it's a bit hard to process trying to figure out whether these finer distinctions actually help with selecting colors for everyday wear or if it just makes things more confusing for someone like me who's just trying to build a comfortable, wearable wardrobe.

To try and make sense of it, I came across a well-made infographic that breaks down the 16 season profiles and explains how they differ from the simpler 4-season model. It's really insightful but also raised more questions about how much I should trust these smaller shifts in palette, especially since some colors recommended in one subtype seem pretty close to what I've always liked wearing anyway.

Has anyone else here worked through the 16 season system and found that it really added value beyond the basic four seasons? Or did you feel like it was just adding excessive layers that didn't make picking clothes easier? I'm keen about personal experiences or even any tips for interpreting these nuanced categories without getting too mixed up.

Here's the infographic I mentioned if you want to check it out: find my color palette free . Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
